Starting as Preoptic Distortion in 2008, Shadows Decay was formed by high school students interested in playing metal. After a number of high school and local shows, the band's name was changed to Shadows Decay for musical reasons. In 2013, the band released "Peace in Hell" their first EP. Currently they are working on promoting and improving their music
